1st Haircut

This picture doesn't really go with the 1st Haircut pics, but it does show how full his hair is.

This was pretty much the day I decided he had to have a haircut. He wakes up happy most days, but was upset when I went back to get the camera. You can see in the following photos that he gets back to his cheerful self rather quickly.

Too bad he had the pacifier in or you could see that sweet smile.

Right before we left to get his hair cut. I was getting a little annoyed with having to tell everyone that "she" was a "he".

My 2 favorite guys!!!

Sitting in the chair like a big boy. Even though he started out like that, it soon turned to mommie holding him.

After the haircut and eating a snack.

Fun Times - Walker, Wagon, Guitars and Chairs

His Nana and Papaw got him this walker and after the furniture inside took a lot of abuse I decided outside might be the best place for it. Alex loves being outside and the fact that he had more room to run, made it even better.

His Grandma and Grandpa are going to use this wagon at their new house once they move to the area. He loves riding in it, but keeping him seated can be a challenge if you stop.

You can't see it but Alex is "dancing". He really likes it when Grandpa sings and plays the guitar.
Helping him out with a little finger action.

Okay, I can't remember why he doesn't have pants on but that's really not what I was trying to capture. This little chair has a history. Doug and I bought this chair about 10 years ago for my nephew Will. After Will outgrew it, his sister(our niece) had a ball with it. When I was mentioning that we wanted to get one like it for Alex, my sister-in-law Stephanie suggested we use theirs. I thought it was a great idea and Alex loves it. The first thing he did was climb into it over the arm and tried to rock. I gave him one of his books and he gibber-jabbered while trying to rock. It was the sweetest thing.

Those big books are hard to hold on to for a little guy.

Climbing and Playing Outside

We had a box we were going to put in the attic, but Alex thought it would make a nice step stool. This was his first time climbing up on something by himself.
We were outside enjoying a mild summer afternoon and he found a leaf that he thought needed a smell.

Look at all those curls. I just love them and I don't look forward to the day we have to cut them out.

Showing me his stick or 'tick' as he calls it.

This age is so cute, where they want to show you everything.

Telling me how old he is.

Will, Morgan and Alex enjoying some time at Hickory Dickory Park. It was very hot that day and we didn't stay too long.

General Cuteness

In an attempt to get caught up, I'm posting several things at one time.

The day after Alex's first birthday he was enjoying his toys.

First time in a "Big" swing when he was 1!

Crazy Hair during bath time.

Don't you just love those blue eyes.

The first of many trips into the cabinet.

Pool that Grandma and Grandpa got him for his birthday. He liked it because he could crawl in and out of it.

Whenever he sits in a chair he always crosses his feet or props them on us. I think it is so cute.

Exploring under the table.

One of his favorite places is under my desk. He now likes to play peek a boo with me while I'm sitting there.

While Doug is getting ready in the morning he sometimes like to take a "ride" on the ironing board.

He likes cheesing it up.

Lauren and Alex. She was a sweet sitter that we lost in August.

Where to begin....

It has been so long I'm not sure where to begin. So let's start with his 1st Birthday!!! It was a great celebration with family and friends. Since it was also the 4th of July weekend we decided to do hamburgers and hotdogs along with the normal cake ice cream.

The Little Birthday Boy!!!
His Nana has a tradition of making all her grandkids their own birthday cake. This was Alex's first of many.
He wasn't very excited about the cake at first but evenutally got into it.

This was the cake that I made him. It was made a carrot cake made from scratch.

He wanted to dump the whole thing off the tray.

Pictures from the Photographer

We have been using a great photographer by the name of Tracy Young and she is absolutely fabulous. Here are the latest ones we had taken. Needless to say it was very hard to narrow our choices.
