More Spots and correct weight

We noticed this morning that some of the spots had bluish purple centers on his feet, legs and arms and he had even more spots. We called the pediatrician and they wanted us to bring him in again. They are saying that he has erythema multiforme minor (EMM) which he said is like a severe case of urticaria. Bad news is that it has to run its course and it can last for 2 - 4 weeks. They think its a result of a cold virus. It's not contagious but I don't know if we will be taking him back to daycare until the rash is for sure clearing up. Good news....the first place that we noticed the rash is looking better so maybe its going to take a couple of days from the time we see an area until it starts getting better.

By the way....I had his weight wrong from Thursday. He weighed 13lbs and 14 oz and today he weighed 14 lbs.

Rash is still here and getting worse

Bless his heart, the rash seems to be getting worse. We just hope that it doesn't get in his eyes, mouth or nose. The Dr said if it did he would give him an oral steriod. It has spread to his back, neck, head and chest so I think we have everywhere covered. No clue as to what has caused it. We did read where it can be caused by a viral infection and not just some allergen. We kind of hope it is the viral infection since the allergen might mean a lifetime of dealing with things like this.

One good thing is that he is in pretty good spirits. He's a little clingy, but who wouldn't be with welts all over your body. I wonder what he thinks about the itchy sensation?

Tailgate this past weekend.

Alex, Doug and I went and tailgated this past weekend. This is only thanks to our good friends The Bush's for allowing Alex and I to stay in their RV. Otherwise, with the weather we would not have been there. It was so cold and windy. Although the Tigers didn't pull through this week we were still glad to cheer them on. Here are some pictures from the tailgate.

This is our cute little friend Henry doing "Touch Down Auburn" with some rather large gloves on. He did great with the chilly weather.

Gary and Robbie were trying to fix a light in the top of the tent and decided to ham it up for this picture. Thanks again to The Bushes for allowing Alex and I to hang out in their RV.

16 weeks today!!!

Alex is 16 weeks today or 4 months old!!!! He is such a blessing. We hoped he would wake up this morning without the welts but no such luck in fact he has more around his neck and head and his left ear looks like someone has boxed it. Maybe I'll get some pictures later and post them.

13 lbs...Dr's Appt and Spots...holding my bottle!

Well...Doug got Alex up this morning and found these little red spots on his legs and arms. They kept getting worse as the day went on and we ended up getting him a Dr's appt this afternoon. Doug and I had really hoped that he would not inherit our allergies but it appears that he has. Dr. Smalley says that he had urticaria which is an itchy skin rash. I think that Doug and I are more bothered by it than he is. He weighed 13lbs and I guess they'll measure him at his 4 month check up on November 6. He's also started trying to hold his bottle..it's pretty cute but also kind of sad that our little baby is growing up.

This picture really does not do justice to the red places that he has on legs, arms and neck.

Long Time Since Last Update

I know....it has been a while since my last update. Since then so much has happened with both Alex and our family. Alex will be 16 weeks or 4 months old this Friday. It's hard to believe that he is that old. He is doing well and sleeping much better. I usually have to get up a couple of times during the night just to give him his pacifier and he'll usually only eat once. He goes to bed around 7 - 8 at night and gets up around 7 - 7:30 the next morning.

We got our first laugh on Doug's birthday which was really special. Our favorite toy is a stuffed frog that ribbit's when you press his tummy, but recently he thought a stuffed monkey deserved a good laugh.

I have started back to work part-time with this being my 3rd week back. The first 2 weeks I only worked 2 days, but I'm working 3 days this week. We have Alex with a lovely lady by the name of Elaine Bowman. Eventually we'll put him in a more structed facility, but right now we just want someone to love and nuture him.

Doug's mom and dad still continue to search for a home here in the Auburn area and we're hopeful the search will end soon as I'm sure they are too.

I'm posting some random pictures and will try to do better in the future, but no promises.

Doug's parents came down last Sunday and stayed with us.

Pictures from bath time. Alex loves the bath and Doug and I both end up getting wet from where he splashes!!!

Little man in his pj's. With the weather getting cooler we've put him in pj's. He is too cute in his little lion pj's.
me and the girls from my work pictured (l to r) Haley, Miranda, Erin, me and Jeannie. We were all at Erin's bridal shower.
The week before I went back to work I brought Alex to the office so everyone could meet him. This is Erin and Alex. Erin is getting married on November 6th.

This is my awesome boss...Dr. Tyler Myers. He never holds babies or so he says...but he looked like a natural.

Mama Dawn and Alex.

This is my sister-in-law Stephanie with my neice Morgan and Will. They have meet us for Doug's birthday dinner.

Happy Halloween!!!

This is a little outfit from his Aunt Stephanie...It makes him look like a little boy instead of my sweet baby. Thanks Aunt Stephanie, Uncle Billy and cousins Will and Morgan.

His shoes look huge but they fit quite well. Thanks Nana for the shoes.

9 Weeks and lots of SMILES!!

Alex is 9 weeks old today....where has the time gone? It just seems like yesterday that we were bringing him home. He weighs 10lbs and 10.5 oz's!!! He's starting to smile more each day. He is such a sweet boy. Here are a few pictures. Enjoy!

I swear I think I see a little red in Alex's hair. Sometimes if the light hits just right it has a red hint.

Mommies little monkey

Alex will be 6 weeks old tomorrow!!! It's hard to believe that the little guy has been here for 6 weeks already. Doug and I are so fortunate to have a healthy son. I've been going each week to a lactation support group at the hospital where we can weigh him. Last week he weighed 8lbs 5 oz's. This week he weighed 9 lbs and 1/2 oz.

The title of this entry is because of this little outfit. I've put some other misc. pictures. Alex likes to sleep on his stomach and I'll let him during the day, but at night it's either his back or side.

He is definitely mommies little stinker.
He is too cute here. He looks like a little man.

1 Month Check-Up and a Visit from Grandparents

Alex had his 1 month check up today. He did great even when they gave him his Hep B vaccine. He now weighs 8 lbs 4 oz and 21 inches long. The doctor said he's doing great and for us to keep up the good work. He's changing everyday and my arms are not keeping up with his weight gain. By the end of the day my arms are give out, along with the rest of me.

Doug's Parents came down this past weekend to see Alex and doing a little house hunting. We were excited for them to see Alex again.

Weigh-In

We wanted to update everyone on Alex's progress. He is a good eater as his weight will show. There is a lactation support group that meets at the hospital on Thursdays that Alex and I have been attending, mostly because I can weigh him which is a good indicator that he's eating well. We thought for sure that we had gained weight since last week and the scales don't lie. Last week he weighed 6.8 lbs and this week (seven days later) he weighed 7.3 lbs. This is a great indicator that he is thriving and doing well. He will be 3 weeks old tomorrow.

We get these sweet little smiles ever so often. That just make our hearts melt!!

This was taken today after we had our weigh in. You really can't tell it here but he is working on a serious double chin.
